Nepal-Khanal faction of CPN-UML looks to register new party

KATHMANDU: AUGUST 18 – CPN-UML senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal has intensified preparations to register a new party. The government has intensified preparations to register new parties as soon as the ordinance is passed so that the parties can be divided by increasing the number of parliamentary parties or the central committee to 20 per cent.

A leader informed Makalu Khabar that the name of the new party is CPN-UML Socialist and the election symbol book has been agreed upon but a decision is yet to be taken. He said that preparations have been made to go to the Election Commission today after taking a decision from the Central Committee meeting.

He also said that if there is a need for further discussion today, only the commission can go. He informed that everything is yet to be decided officially and the decision will be taken by the meeting of the Central Committee.

He said that Madhav Kumar Nepal would be the chairman of the new party. After the ordinance came, the Thakur-Mahato faction of the JSP is going to register a new party called JSP Loktantrik.
