Details filled in by 256 Nepalis returning from Afghanistan

KATHMANDU: AUGUST 18 – As many as 256 Nepalis have reported to the government on Tuesday evening to return from Afghanistan, which has been seized by the Taliban insurgency. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, 256 Nepalis have registered their details on the web portal of the Consular Services Department till 5 pm on Tuesday.
Nepalis living in Afghanistan have been provided a mobile number with Viber and WhatsApp facility to register their name and details in the online portal on the website of the Consular Services Department. Those numbers are 974932648 of the Consular Services Department, 974932649 of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and 8929601925 of the Nepali Embassy in New Delhi.
You are requested to enter your details using these numbers. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has requested the Nepalis who are on the verge of rescue to stay in touch with the specified contact number wherever they are staying and to exchange information with each other through the available means and remain safe.
It has been requested to assist the foreign employment entrepreneurs who are sending Nepali nationals for employment in Afghanistan in the rescue operation. The Ministry has informed that some of the Nepali citizens who were there and came in contact with them have returned to their regular work after assessing the recent situation in Afghanistan. For the rescue operation, a ‘Situation Room’ with phone number and email address has been set up under the Ministry’s Etiquette Division under the leadership of the Deputy Etiquette Chief.
According to the Ministry, the Nepalese Embassy in New Delhi is in regular contact and coordination with the Nepalese nationals in Afghanistan, diplomatic missions, the United Nations and international organizations for the rescue. The second meeting of the task force formed under the coordination of the heads of Central Asia, West Asia and Africa divisions of the ministry was held on Tuesday to ensure the condition of Nepalis in employment due to the recent developments in Afghanistan.
