KATHMANDU: AUGUST 17 – The Communist Party of Nepal (UML) is going to protest against the government’s ordinance on party split.

Announcing the decision of the UML Standing Committee meeting held at Tulsi Lal Memorial Foundation on Tuesday, party spokesperson Pradeep Gyawali said that the government should be responsible for the situation arising out of the protest.

‘It expresses its determination to protest vigorously against actions such as bringing an ordinance that would make the democratic system controversial and push it towards crisis. The government itself should be responsible for the consequences arising from this, ‘said Gyawali.

The meeting also called on the party leaders and cadres to stand firm against every conspiracy to divide the party and to actively contribute towards party unity.
