Cinematographer Bhim Rana dies due to coronavirus
KATHMANDU: AUGUST 17 – Senior filmmaker Bhim Rana has passed away. He died on Tuesday morning after being infected with coronavirus for about a month. He died at the Birendra Hospital Chhauni at around 8:30 this morning.
He is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter. Both his children have been living in the United States. According to family sources, his son will be cremated as soon as he returns to Nepal on Wednesday.
Journalist Kuber Giri has confirmed the news of Rana’s death by posting on social media.
Similarly, director Vijay Ratna, remembering Bhim, said that he was rich in simple personality along with a skilled cinematographer. He also recalled working with Bhim in the movie ‘Bir Ganeshman’.
Actor Bhuwan KC, singer Sapana Shree, singer Devika Bandana, actor Vikrant Basnet, director Rakshya Rana, director and actor Deepa Shree Niraula, director Dipendra Lama and others have wished him peace of mind.
Rana has shot popular films including Samjhana, Nishana, Rajya, Lal Salaam and Love Kushal. He also produced the film Maili.
