KATHMANDU: AUGUST 14 – The 14th general convention of the Nepali Congress is scheduled to begin on September 3. According to Central Member Jeevan Pariyar, a meeting of the Central Working Committee held at the residence of Budhanilkantha-based Chairman Sher Bahadur Deuba has decided to start the party’s lower level convention from September 3 and the Central General Convention from November 25 to 29.

According to him, the lower level convention of the meeting will start in September 3. Similarly, the Palika Convention will be held on September 17, the State Assembly Regional Convention on September 21, the House of Representatives Regional Committee and District Conventions with a single constituency and the District Convention with more than one constituency on September 26.

The legal term of the Congress is coming to an end on October 9. According to the leaders, the party’s legitimacy will be preserved and the schedule for the general convention will not be rushed. Earlier, Congress had brought a schedule to hold the Central General Convention from September 1 to 4.
