Chances of heavy rain with lightning in these places

KATHMANDU: AUGUST 14 – Currently, it is raining in some places across the country with normal to full cloud cover. According to the Water and Weather Forecast Division, the monsoon low-pressure line is changing as it is close to the Terai region of Nepal.

There is a possibility of light to moderate rain in most parts of the country in the afternoon. There is a possibility of heavy rain with thunder and lightning in one or two places of State 1, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini and Karnali States.

As the current monsoon low-pressure line is close to the Terai region of Nepal, its effect will be more in the Terai region, said the division. There is a possibility of heavy rain with thunder/lightning in a few places in State 1, State 2, Bagmati State and one or two places in Gandaki, Lumbini and Far Western States

The Water and Meteorological Department has requested to take necessary precautions as the water level in rivers and streams may rise due to the risk of soil erosion, landslides and drift in hilly areas.
