FNJ expresses grief over the death of journalist Bista
KATHMANDU: AUGUST 12 – The Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) has expressed grief over the death of journalist Manoj Bista. A statement issued by FNJ General Secretary Roshan Puri said that the federation was shocked by the death of journalist Bista, who was undergoing treatment at Manmohan Hospital in Kathmandu after the coronavirus was confirmed. He died on August 7, while undergoing treatment.
Stating that the Nepali journalism sector has lost a skilled and combative journalist due to the demise of Bista, who was active in journalism for a long time in various media including Ujyalo Radio Network, the Federation has expressed its condolences to the bereaved families.
According to the federation, 21 journalists have died so far due to coronavirus.
So far, more than 1,000 journalists have been infected. In the current challenging situation of coronavirus, the federation has appealed to all journalists to engage in professional work by taking all possible health safety measures in mind.
