DARCHULA: AUGUST 12 – The Indian side has not cooperated in the search for Jaisingh Dhami who went missing after falling into the Mahakali River while crossing the river through Tuin at Darchula. When the Darchula District Administration Office sought permission to fly a drone to search for him in the Mahakali River, the Indian DM administration did not respond.

As the Indian side did not respond to the request for permission, there has been a problem in the search for Jaisingh. Darchula Assistant Chief District Officer Jyotsna Bhatta Joshi said that the search was being carried out by flying a drone on the Nepal side of the Mahakali River as there was no permission from India.

According to her, the Darchula District Administration Office had sought permission from the Pithoragarh DM administration of India to search for Jaisingh by flying a drone. “We had sent a letter to the Indian side on August 9 seeking permission,” said Joshi, who is also a member of the investigation committee set up to search for Jaisingh. “There has been no response for four days.” The search is being carried out by flying drones only on the river bank towards Nepal, but not towards India. ‘

According to her, a team of DSPs, Deputy Inspectors Prem Gandharva and Govinda Pariyar, led by the DSP of the District Police Office, Darchula, has been engaged in a search operation at the spot. Chand, a spokesman for the District Police Office, Darchula, said the team was conducting a search from a drone on Wednesday.

Earlier, eyewitnesses along with the investigation committee team who reached Darchula have given a statement that Jaisingh fell into the river and disappeared after the SSB untied Tuin’s wire. Instead of giving justice to the victim by taking action against the SSB who threw Jai Singh into the river, India has been claiming that the SSB did not release Tuin. The condition of Jaisingh, who went missing after falling into the Mahakali River on July 30, has not been ascertained.
