KATHMANDU: AUGUST 12 – Nepali Congress Central Working Committee meeting is being held today. The meeting will be held at the party’s central office in Sanepa at 2 pm.

Congress chief secretary Krishna Prasad Poudel informed that the schedule and election guidelines of the party’s 14th general convention will be presented at the meeting. Congress has already made public the schedule to hold the 14th General Convention in Kathmandu from September 1 to 4.

According to the schedule, the village / municipal ward convention was scheduled for July 27, the village/municipality convention for July 31, and the state assembly regional convention for August 4. Similarly, the regional convention of the House of Representatives/district convention with only one constituency was scheduled to be held on August 7 and the district convention with more than one constituency was scheduled to be held on August 10. However, due to the active membership dispute, the convention schedule till August 10 has been affected.

On Wednesday, Chairman Sher Bahadur Deuba held a meeting with the leaders of his party at Budhanilkantha from 9 am and had a discussion with the leaders including Poudel and Sitaula at 2 pm. A strategy has been decided to move the convention by taking Poudel into confidence from the discussions of Deuba’s party leaders.
