Lumbini State: House informed of CM’s resignation, meeting adjourned

KATHMANDU: AUGUST 11 – The state assembly has been informed about the resignation of Lumbini Chief Minister Shankar Pokharel. Speaker Purna Bahadur Gharti had read out a letter sent by Chief Minister Amik Sherchan informing the House that Chief Minister Pokharel’s resignation had been accepted. At the same time, Speaker Gharti informed that the meeting has been postponed.

The opposition coalition had filed a no-confidence motion against Chief Minister Pokharel for the third time on Tuesday. Today’s meeting was presenting the decision on the proposal. However, Chief Minister Pokharel resigned before the meeting.
