National team practicing in Pokhara
POKHARA: AUGUST 9 – The Nepali national football team is now preparing for the upcoming SAFF Championship in Pokhara. ANFA is preparing to organize some friendly games before the SAFF.
After a month of training in Kathmandu, the team was given a 10-day rest after a dispute between the coach and the senior vice-president.
Initially, coach Al Mutairi put the 50-member team in the preliminary stage. From where 36 players were selected in the second round. However, goalkeeper Vishal Sunar, midfielder Sesehang Angdembe and winger Shishir Lekhi have been reinstated in the team after some players did not participate in the training in Pokhara.
Some players have been added after Arik Bista and Prakash Budhathoki did not participate in the training in Pokhara.
Bikram Lama, who returned to Nepal after undergoing surgery in Qatar, has been called to a close camp based on his performance on the field, even though he used to go to the field for personal fitness. A 38-member team is preparing to practice for 15 days in Pokhara.
