TEHRATHUM: AUGUST 9 – The Menchhayayem Rural Municipality of Tehrathum has issued another press release after a widespread dispute over the public leave given to the vice-chairman’s father-in-law.
The new release mistakenly mentions “public holidays.” It is not an attempt to grant public leave, but a statement issued three days later states that all those involved in misrepresenting public leave will be informed. A statement signed by the Acting Chief Administrative Officer Bishnu Prasad Pokharel said, “We have expressed our grief over the demise of Krishna Prasad Gautam, a social worker, elder and senior citizen of Menchyayayam Rural Municipality-5.
Earlier, the rural municipality had issued a ‘mourning leave’ on Friday (6 August) for the death of Krishna Prasad Gautam, father-in-law of Gita Devi Timsina Gautam. In a statement issued by the acting chief administrative officer of the village, Bishnu Prasad Pokhrel, it was mentioned that it has been decided to give mourning leave to the village offices, ward offices, all educational institutions within the village and offices under the village.
