Judo player Devu promoted to inspector

KATHMANDU: AUGUST 6 – Judo player Devu Thapa has been promoted to Inspector. She is a judo player who represented Nepal in the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

Thapa, who is now a judo coach and referee, has won silver and bronze medals in the South Asian Games.

Thapa had joined the police force in 2048 BS. Competing in the competition, Thapa had given a bronze medal to Nepal even after she was injured in an elevator accident during the SAG Games in Bangladesh.

After winning a silver medal in the 10th green, she was promoted to ASI. Born in Jumla, Thapa has been playing judo since 2052 BS.
