Nepal and India playing football at Dasharath Stadium
KATHMANDU: AUGUST 6 – Nepal and India are scheduled to play two football matches next month. The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) said on Friday that the Nepali national football team has decided to play a friendly match against India at Dasharath Stadium on September 2 and 5.
Both Nepal and India are preparing for the SAFF Championship and Asia Cup qualifiers. Nepal and India have competed 19 times before. In which India has won 13 games. Nepal has defeated India twice.
Nepal last defeated India 2-1 in the 2013 SAFF Championship in Kathmandu.
The two teams last met at Dasharath Stadium in 2015 during the 2018 World Cup qualifiers. Where there was a goalless draw. Now both the teams are preparing for the clean championship to be held in October. However, the competition project has not been finalized yet. In next week’s meeting, SAFF is likely to give the responsibility of the project to either Nepal or Maldives.
Both India and Nepal have entered the third round of the Asian Cup qualifiers. India was third in their group and Nepal was fourth. The qualifying match will be played in February 2022.
