KATHMANDU: AUGUST 6 – A writ petition has been filed in the Supreme Court against the dismissal of the government’s land dispute resolution commission.

On Friday, advocate Prabesh KC filed a writ petition alleging that the government’s decision to dismiss the commission violated the fundamental rights and legal rights of the citizens.

In the writ petition, it has been mentioned that the committee constituted under the constitutional obligation of the government was dismissed by this government without taking ownership and was influenced by political motives.

A meeting of the Council of Ministers chaired by Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba on August 3 dissolved the commission. The Supreme Court has stated that the writ petition will be filed on August 9.
