Digital rights of Akshay’s ‘Bell Bottom’ sold at Rs 450 million
KATHMANDU: AUGUST 6 – Bell Bottom starring Akshay Kumar has been bought by Amazon Prime for Rs 450 million. According to the Indian media, the rights of the film were bought at a price of Rs 900 million after it came to OTT.
Now, ‘Bell Bottom’ will be released on the OTT platform in two weeks. According to filmmaker and market expert Girish Johar, by the time the film is released, it is estimated that the ongoing lockdown in the state of Maharashtra may be a bit loose.
According to him, movie halls in Goa, Maharashtra and Gujarat may open with some occupancy. In some places, the opening of movie halls on weekends has been banned. Meanwhile, director Rohit Shetty has started final discussions with Netflix about releasing movies on digital platforms. Rohit started the discussion after Netflix signalled not to wait any longer.
