Agreement to operate Mahendra Golchha Industrial Study Center

BIRATNAGAR: AUGUST 6 – The late Mahendra Golchha Study Center is to be started in Biratnagar. It was agreed to bring the late Mahendra Golchha Industrial Study Center into operation with the objective of conducting various research programs in various dimensions of economic development.

A memorandum of understanding has been signed between the industry association Morang and Eastern University with the aim of developing the industrial study center to be implemented as a model learning center of the country’s economic and industrial sector to be implemented in collaboration with Eastern University. Suyash Pyakureral, president of the industry association Morang, said that the center is being set up to advance the process of study research and learning by establishing academic and business relations between the university and industry with the objective of utilizing the academic knowledge of academics in economic and industrial fields through study and research in the industrial sector.

Pyakurel expressed the belief that the Industrial Study Center, established in the memory of the late Mahendra Golchha, former president of the organization and a senior industrialist, would inspire young researchers at the university to conduct academic research and policy analysis in the economic and industrial fields.

Vice-Chancellor of Eastern University Dr Yadav Raj Koirala said that the understanding reached between the two sides would help in identifying the problems of the industry through research and presenting suggestions at the policymaking level. Stating that new entrepreneurship should be promoted in parallel for strong economic and social development, Vice-Chancellor Koirala said that the Center would work in a way that the entrepreneurs and academics would belong to it.

Coordinator of the Study Research Center and Dean of the Faculty of Management, Eastern University, Dr Viju Thapaliya said that the center would add a new dimension to create an environment for industry policymaking, policy debate and advocacy, and interaction between industrialists and universities.  Senior Vice President of the organization Pradip Murarka, Vice President Rajkumar Golchha, Nanda Kishore Rathi discussing the contribution of Mahendra Golchha, the Center said that it would encourage young researchers to carry out scientific studies and research in the industrial sector.

Indra Khatri (Rajan), co-coordinator of the center and member of the working committee of the organization, said that the center would encourage young victims to study and research on economic issues by linking the economic sector and the field of research. Golchha’s daughter Yukti Golchha wished success to the event, which was held to help her father make a long-term financial contribution, and expressed her commitment to fully support him.
