POKHARA: AUGUST 5 – A golf course will be built for the first time in Lomanthang of Mustang. The process of construction of a golf course at an altitude of 4,645 meters has been started with the active participation of Gandaki State Assembly member Indradhara Bista. According to him, the road has been extended to the place where the course will be built. The road has been dug at a cost of Rs 4 million.

Bista said that his focus is on managing water closely and building the necessary infrastructure to play golf.

‘Probably the highest golf course in the world. We have started building the infrastructure for the construction of the course, ‘he said,’ Now we will take an expert team and arrange the technical matters. ‘

Bista is also preparing to play golf for the test this August. “I have talked to some players. We had to find out if there was a possibility. Then I will take an expert team from Pokhara and Kathmandu to check the measurements, ‘he says.

He is confident that this work will be important in the tourism development of Mustang. ‘Mustang needs tourists. Players will surely be eager to play golf at such a height, ‘he added,’ I want to bring the identity of the Upper Mustang to the international market by playing golf.

Although preparations are being made to build a golf course, it has not been decided how many holes to build. “It simply came to our notice then. We will talk in detail after going there first, ‘said Bhuwahadur Gurung (Bhuwan), advisor to the Nepal Golf Association Kaski.’ It looks good from the outside. There is a possibility. ‘Lomanthang is a historic area. Even today, the people here consider the monarchy. But there is no formal monarchy.
