The investigation team left for the site via Indian route
DARCHULA: AUGUST 5 – An investigation team has left for the site via Indian route to study the incident of disappearance of Jaisingh Dhami while crossing through Tuin (Iron made rope) in Byans Rural Municipality-2 of Darchula. A team led by Home Ministry Joint Secretary Janardan Gautam left the district headquarters Khalanga for Gasku Malghat at 10:30 am on Thursday, said Narendra Bahadur Chand, Inspector at the District Police Office, Darchula.
According to him, Gasku is Indian land across the Mahakali River and Malghat is Nepali land. Jaisingh of the same place fell into the Mahakali River while crossing the river through Tuin. His condition is still unknown.
In the case of Jaisingh’s disappearance, the team has stated that they will prepare a report after conducting a meticulous study. Inspector Chand said that the committee would also take information regarding the complaint lodged by the Indian SSB and the locals at the Indian Police Station.
Jayasih Dhami, the residence of Byans Rural Municipality-2, went missing in Mahakali on July 30. It has been alleged that the incident took place when the Indian SSB untied the wire on which Jaisingh was crossing through. However, the Indian administration has sent a letter to the Nepali administration claiming that the SSB patrolled the area.
The team had discussions with eyewitnesses, journalists, human rights activists, political parties and people’s representatives of Byans Rural Municipality in Khalanga district headquarters on Wednesday.
The team has been asked to submit the investigation report within 10 days. The committee members are Far-Western Deputy Inspector General of Police Purushottam Kandel, Director of National Investigation Department Hutraj Thapa, Armed Police Force Senior Superintendent of Police Suresh Kumar Shrestha and Darchula Assistant Chief District Officer Jyotsna Bhatta.
