Ward Chairman Arrested for Beating Youth

KATHMANDU: AUGUST 5 – Ward Chairman of Jajarkot Junichande Rural Municipality-2 Ram Bahadur Nepali has been arrested for beating a youth tied with a rope. He was arrested by the Jajarkot police on Thursday (today) for beating a local Sarpe Damai on July 30.

“We had arrested the ward chairman and bringing him in,” Khumananda Pandey, a police inspector at the District Police Office, Jajarkot, told Makalu Khabar. If the victim files an application, he may face further action. We will prosecute the locals on the basis of the video and the police report. ‘

According to the police, the victim has also been called to the district headquarters. The victim has not filed a complaint yet. Inspector Pandey said that legal action would be taken based on the victim’s statement, nature of the incident and video.
