Nepal government issues third wave warning as COVID-19 cases continue to rise
KATHMANDU: AUGUST 3 – The District Administration Office, Kathmandu has informed that the third wave of COVID-19 may come and it has been informed not to carry out activities against the health standards.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Kathmandu administration said that such activities could lead to a third wave of infection due to overcrowding, non-compliance with prescribed health standards, improper use of masks and lack of physical distance.
In addition, the Kathmandu administration has warned all to be vigilant as the infection rate of the coronavirus has been increasing in the districts including Kathmandu Valley in the last few days.
“In the current situation where the prohibitory order is on and the rate of infection is high, people from different groups are involved in various activities such as gatherings, conferences, sit-ins, processions, seminars, rallies, non-compliance with prescribed health standards and improper use of masks.” All parties are advised not to engage in such activities contrary to the health norms as there is a possibility of a third wave of COVID-19 infection due to unorganized public activities without maintaining physical distance, ”the notice said.
The Kathmandu administration has stated that strict action will be taken as per the prevailing law if the activities are found to have been done in violation of the issued prohibitory order and health standards.
