Mahakali Tuin Case: The investigation team is reaching Darchula today
DARCHULA: AUGUST 3 – An investigation team is reaching Darchula today to investigate the incident of a local Jaisingh Dhami falling into the Mahakali River while crossing the Mahakali River from Tuin in Darchula’s Byans Rural Municipality Ward No. 2.
Chief of the District Police Office, Darchula, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Manohar Bhatta informed that the team was heading to Khalanga. The government had formed an investigation committee under the coordination of Home Ministry Joint Secretary Janardan Gautam to investigate the incident.
The members of the formation committee had left Kathmandu for Darchula on Monday to understand the facts of the incident. Three eyewitnesses have been brought to Khalanga on Monday to witness the SSB opening the door for discussion with the committee members.
Darchula Assistant Chief District Officer Jyotsna Bhatta Joshi said that they had come to Khalanga district headquarters to assist in the investigation. According to her, Kalyan Singh Dhami, Bikram Rankoli and Anita Dhami have reached Khalanga district headquarters on Monday evening.
The investigation committee formed under the coordination of Joint Secretary Gautam has Deputy Inspector General of Police Purushottam Kandel, Director of Investigation of National Investigation Department Hutraj Thapa, Armed Police Force Nepal Senior Superintendent of Police Suresh Kumar Shrestha and Assistant Chief District Officer of District Administration Office, Darchula Jyotsana Bhatta Joshi as members. The committee is required to submit its report within 10 days.
