Hoteliers in Pokhara ask for COVID-19 vaccine
POKHARA: AUGUST 3 – The Western Hotel Association has demanded to provide vaccination to the tourism sector of Pokhara with priority. Chairman Bikul Tulachan said in a statement that the coronavirus epidemic had hit the tourism sector the hardest and urged the public to make plans to make it operational.
Tourism in Pokhara has been disrupted due to coronavirus and lockdown. There are more than 75,000 direct and indirect dependents on tourism. About 30,000 are directly employed. Entrepreneurs are requested to provide vaccines to them.
Businessmen here had warned not to start the business until they received the vaccine last month. But business is slowly opening up. The delegates have met with the cabinet and asked for vaccination. Chairman of the Pokhara Tourism Council Gopi Bhattarai informed that they have committed to providing enough vaccines to the businessmen of Pokhara.
