Coach Al Mutairi apologized for what he said in the interview
KATHMANDU: AUGUST 2 – The head coach of the Nepali national football team, Abdullah Al Mutairi, has apologized for the dispute with the senior vice-president and for speaking out in an online interview while remaining silent about his resignation.
In an online interview some time ago, coach Al Mutairi said that not only the players should play but also the officials should improve. He was criticized by ANFA senior vice-president Pankaj Bikram Nemwang. He then announced his resignation, citing Nemwang as the reason.
Writing a status on Facebook on Monday, Al Mutairi apologized for speaking online, saying it affected some officials and football supporters. However, he did not disclose anything about his resignation or Nemwang.
Stating that he has respect for all the former players and coaches, he said that the Nepali team has a long way to go.
