Rai resigned from ANFA spokesperson
KATHMANDU: AUGUST 2 – Central member and spokesperson of the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) Kiran Rai has resigned from the post of spokesperson.
Dissatisfied with the resignation of national football team head coach Abdullah Al Mutairi, Rai has decided to step down from ANFA’s responsibilities.
He has submitted his resignation in the presence of the senior vice president. Although he was preparing to resign on Sunday, he postponed his resignation in the last hour.
Rai was dissatisfied that the foreign coach had announced his resignation on social media accusing the senior vice-president of ANFA and accusing the officials of not being confirmed. However, he has been holding public institutional views.
On Saturday night alone, he was referring to the coach on Facebook, saying, “I may die, but to take action against the national and international norms and principles of football and to get help by propagating that Nepalis are poor, is it possible to compromise on all norms and self-esteem?” He had indicated his resignation by writing the status
He said he would mention the rest on social media on Sunday afternoon. On Saturday, he told his close district and colleagues that he would resign from the post of spokesperson.
Recently, the number of resignations has been increasing due to dissatisfaction with the establishment side of ANFA. Many see this as the politics of an approaching ANFA election.
