20 million doses of vaccine be available by coming October
KATHMANDU: AUGUST 2 – The government has said that 20 million doses of vaccine against coronavirus will be available in the coming September. In a virtual press conference held by the Ministry of Health and Population on Monday, Minister of State for Health Umesh Shrestha informed that an agreement has been reached for the purchase of 15 million doses of vaccine and 20 million doses of vaccine will arrive in Nepal by October.
According to him, the procurement process of 5 million doses of Janssen, 4-4 million Moderna and Pfizer and 2 million doses of AstraZeneca has been expedited.
He informed that 11 million doses of vaccine will be brought from the Covax facility and 15 million doses will be brought at the cost of Covax itself. Minister of State Shrestha informed that 4 million doses of vaccine have already been paid.
