Minister of State Shrestha will not take salary-allowance, accommodation and vehicle facilities

KATHMANDU: AUGUST 2 – Newly-appointed Minister of State for Health and Population Umesh Shrestha has said that he will not receive a salary, housing and transport facilities from the government.

He held a press conference on Monday to announce the 100-day action plan and announced that he would not take any other facilities in the state except security.

He has also informed that he will resign from the executive post of the business involved while he is in the post of Minister of State. Minister of State Shrestha has investments in education, health, hydropower, agriculture, banking and other sectors.

As soon as Shrestha was appointed as the Minister of State, there has been a widespread protest against the appointment of a businessman.
