Home Minister’s directive to find out the facts of Darchula incident
KATHMANDU: JULY 31 – Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand has directed the police and the local administration to find out the truth after conducting a necessary investigation into the incident of a person who went missing in the river after falling from the iron rope (Tuin) in Darchula. According to his personal secretary Narendra KC, the Home Minister has instructed the Home Secretary, Inspector General of Police and the local administration to immediately investigate the incident and find out the truth.
According to the local administration, Jaisingh Dhami, 33, of Byas Rural Municipality 2 of Darchula district has gone missing in the Mahakali River after trying to cross the river. Locals have alleged that a team of Indian Border Security Force (IBSF) fell into the river while pulling an iron rope while crossing the Mahakali River from Tuin.
Assistant Chief District Officer of Darchula, Jyotsna Bhatta, said that iron rope had broken and fallen so far. He also said that there was no official information that the Indian SSB had broken the rope. According to Bhatta, a team of Nepal Police and Armed Forces went to the spot to search for the culprits.
