KATHMANDU: JULY 30 – A meeting of the elected working committee of the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) is being held on Friday amid growing differences in recent times. This time a non-nominated meeting is going to be held in the meeting.

The meeting to be held at 4 pm will focus on the resignation of Nepali national team head coach Abdullah Almutairi and the incident involving vice-president Pankaj Bikram Nemwang. The incident has become more complicated after both Nemwang and the coach lodged a written complaint with ANFA to investigate.

Announcing his resignation on social media, Almutairi had announced his resignation, accusing ANFA senior vice-president Pankaj Nemwang of obstructing his work. Nemwang has also been demanding an impartial investigation into the whole incident. With ANFA elections just a few months away, extreme factionalism has been seen within ANFA. Nemwang has been accusing him of conspiracy.

However, an attempt is being made to reach an understanding between the coaches and the senior vice president rather than between the office-bearers. An ANFA source said that an attempt was being made to reach a mutual agreement between Nemwang and coach Almutairi. However, since both have come out strongly, the possibility of a discussion between the two sides is slim. However, ANFA sources say that there is no alternative to understanding between the two as this incident will affect both of them in the long run.

General Secretary Indraman Tuladhar and Treasurer Rabindra Joshi will participate in the meeting along with 17 elected officials. Nominated Vice-Chairman Shikshit Parajuli has expressed his dissatisfaction in writing saying that he will not participate in any meeting of the working committee from now on.
