KATHMANDU: JULY 30 – Top leaders are scheduled to hold discussions to resolve the active dispute of the Nepali Congress. Top leaders are engaged in discussions to discuss the issues on which consensus could not be reached in the report submitted by the Ramesh Lekhak-led Active Investigation Committee.

A meeting will be held at the residence of Prime Minister and party president Sher Bahadur Deuba at Budhanilkantha on Friday at 11 am. Chairman Deuba, senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel and leader Krishna Prasad Sitaula will participate in the meeting.

The investigation committee had submitted the report to Chairman Deuba last Tuesday. A meeting of office bearers and former office-bearers held on Thursday had given the responsibility of resolving the dispute to the top leader. Top leaders have pledged to resolve the dispute within five days.

The party has not been able to reach an agreement on the active membership to be given to the leaders and cadres in Dhanusha-4 and Sarlahi-2 along with the active membership in Bara and Saptari.
