Nepal’s ‘reluctance’ to meet Oli
KATHMANDU: JULY 30 – UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli and senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal have met and members of the disbanded task force are working to take ownership of the 10-point agreement.
However, senior leaders who have been disagreeing on 10 points are still reluctant to meet Chairman Oli. Chairman Oli, on the other hand, has said that he is ready to welcome Nepal at his residence in Balkot. Before the meeting with Oli, Nepal had said that it would meet the second-tier leaders of the establishment party, Subash Nemwang and Bishnu Poudel.
Accordingly, a one-and-a-half-hour meeting was held between Nepal and Nemwang on Thursday. It is said that Nepal can meet Poudel on Friday. Nembang called on the two leaders to conclude the unity process.
“You (Nepal) and Chairman Comrade (Oli) should meet and talk and say that unity can be taken forward in a concrete way,” said Nemwang, who is also the coordinator of the establishment party in the disbanded task force. At Nemwang’s request, Nepal responded by saying, “OK.”
Nemwang also urged the task force formed by Oli and Nepal to maintain the 10-point agreement reached between the two sides. “We have agreed on 10 points. It must be brought to an end. All that remains is for the president and you to move forward by negotiating, ”Nemwang told Nepal. It is stated that Nepal did not make clear the 10-point agreement during the meeting with Nemwang. A source in Nepal said, “I will carry the report given to me by the task force.”
When Nemwang asked about participation in the ruling coalition, Nepal had given various answers. “You said you were not in the coalition. However, the representative seems to have gone late. Why did you go? ‘Was Nemwang’s question. It is said that Nepal responded by telling a story. He said that there was a long reason for the party to come to this stage.
