Sugarcane farmers to protest from 21 August [With Video]

KATHMANDU: JULY 29 – Sugarcane farmers will be protesting from 21 August if they do not receive the due payment. Giving an ultimatum to the industrialists and the government, the farmers have announced to agitate in Kathmandu if they do not receive all the dues by 21 August.

Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, Sugarcane Farmers’ Struggle Committee Sarlahi Chairman Ramswarth Roy, Secretary Harishyam Roy, Gopal Yadav and other farmers announced to come to Kathmandu and agitate.

They have drawn the attention of the government and the industrialists to fulfil all their demands. Sugarcane farmers have said that they will not agitate immediately due to coronavirus and will not put pressure on the government.

Farmers have said that they have to wait till now as the government has announced to pay all the dues from the industrialists but they have not received the payment.
