Talks between Deuba and Prachanda, cabinet expansion possible today

KATHMANDU: JULY 29 – A meeting has been held between Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba and Chairman of the ruling Maoist Center Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’. In the discussion that ended before 10 am, issues including completion of the Council of Ministers were discussed.

A Maoist leader told Makalu Khabar that the cabinet could be expanded today. ‘ I heard the two top leaders talking about the expansion of the Council of Ministers, ‘the leader said,’ maybe even today the Council of Ministers can be expanded. ‘

The leaders said the names of the ministers have not been finalized yet. ‘That work is being done by Comrade Chairman. It will be the last one in a while, ‘said the leader.

Earlier, a meeting of the ruling coalition on Wednesday (yesterday) had given the names of the ministers to the party leaders to choose from. After this, Deuba and Prachanda advised each other to complete the cabinet.

After the Madhav Kumar Nepal Group and the Rastriya Janamorcha told them not to return, the Council of Ministers is about to be completed through the partnership of Congress, Maoists and People’s Socialist Party, Nepal.
