KATHMANDU: JULY 28 -Mission to Support and Facebook group Women’s Room Reloaded have staged a demonstration at Maitighar Mandala yesterday evening saying that the killer has not been arrested even three years after the rape and murder of Nirmala Panta, a 13-year-old girl from Kanchanpur.
During the protest, the protesters have even lit lamps in Panta’s memory, pressuring the government to arrest the killer.
Nirmala’s death occurred three years ago. Nirmala Panta, a 13-year-old girl, left home on the afternoon of July 26, 2018, to do her homework at a friend’s house. She hasn’t been seen or heard from since that day. Her body was discovered the following day in a sugarcane field about a kilometre from her home.
The government has not yet been able to bring the culprits involved in the incident.
