Gandaki and Lumbini state chiefs appointed

KATHMANDU: JULY 28 – President Bidhya Devi Bhandari has appointed Gandaki and Lumbini state chiefs. On Tuesday, President Bhandari appointed Prithviman Gurung as the Gandaki chief and Amik Sherchan as the Lumbini chief.

On the recommendation of Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, President Bhandari has appointed Gurung and Sher Chan as the heads of state in accordance with Article 163 (2) of the Constitution of Nepal, according to a statement issued by the Office of the President.

On Tuesday, President Bhandari fired the outgoing state chiefs of both states.
