The states of Sherchan and Pariyar will be changed

KATHMANDU: JULY 27 – Amik Sherchan and Tilak Pariyar, who have been recommended by the CPN-Maoist Center, will be the new state chiefs.

On Tuesday, the UCPN-M recommended the names of Sherchan as the head of Gandaki State and Pariyar as the head of State-2.

Article 163, Clause 4 of the Constitution of Nepal provides that the same person cannot be the head of the same state more than once.

Due to this, Sherchan is being appointed as the head of State 2 and Pariyar as the head of Gandaki State. Today’s cabinet meeting is appointing state chiefs. As the names of Congress and UML leader, Madhav Kumar Nepal has not been decided yet, only two names are likely to be recommended for an appointment today, said a minister.
