Recommendation to Sherchan Lumbini State Chief

KATHMANDU: JULY 27 – The government has recommended Amik Sherchan, leader of the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist Center), as the Lumbini state chief.

A cabinet meeting held on Tuesday recommended to President Bidhya Devi Bhandari appoint Sherchan as the Lumbini state chief.

Sherchan was earlier the head of Gandaki state. In Gandaki state, the name of Nepali Congress leader Prithviman Gurung has been recommended.
