Alex of Nepal is playing in the Olympics today
KATHMANDU: JULY 27 – Nepali swimmer Alexander (Alex) Shah is competing in the Tokyo Olympics today. In the included hit, seven players will compete at 3:45 pm Nepali time. Alex will compete in the first hit of the 100-meter freestyle in the sixth lane.
Alex has made a place in the Olympics on the basis of university places. He is competing with those who have been selected on the basis of the wild card and university in this hit. Alex also holds the national record in this competition. He clocked a record time of 55.38 seconds in the eighth National Games in Nepalgunj.
From the hit stage, the top 16 players will make it to the semifinals. 71 people are competing in this competition. There are 7 players in the first hit including Alex and 8-8 players in the others. Gaurika Singh of Nepal will compete in swimming on Wednesday.
Earlier, judo’s Sonia Bhatta from Nepal had lost in the 48 kg weight category and Kalpana Pariyar in the shooting had lost in the 10m air rifle. Athletics’ Saraswati Chaudhary will compete in the 100-meter race on July 30.
