Improving Nepal’s T20 rankings after Ireland’s defeat
KATHMANDU: JULY 26 – Nepali national cricket team’s T20 rankings have improved. Nepal have improved their International Cricket Council (ICC) T20 rankings after the Test team Ireland was forced to suffer a clean sweep in the series against South Africa. In the latest ICC rankings update, Nepal has improved from one place to 12th position.
Nepal has got 187 rating points from 19 games. Ireland slipped to 13th place after suffering a clean sweep in three T20 series against South Africa. Ireland, which is in the 13th position, is behind Nepal even though it has 178 rating points in 21 games.
Nepal is in the highest position towards associates. Before Nepal, Zimbabwe is in 11th place and Bangladesh is in 10th place. England tops the list, followed by India, New Zealand and Pakistan. Australia is fifth, South Africa is sixth, Afghanistan is seventh, West Indies is eighth and Sri Lanka is ninth.
Nepal is still in 16th position in ODIs. Nepal last won the title by playing a triangular series with the Netherlands and Malaysia at home last April. Despite not playing any T20I game in the last four months, Nepal managed to improve its position due to the defeat of Ireland.
