Where is the risk of flooding today?
KATHMANDU: JULY 26 – Monsoon is becoming active again in Nepal. With the onset of the monsoon, there is a possibility of heavy rain in many parts of the country in the next four days, according to the Weather Forecast Division.
As the rains continue, the risk of flooding in large/small rivers and streams has also increased. The flow of water in Karnali and its tributaries is forecast to increase significantly today. The flow will also increase in Koshi, Narayani, Mahakali and their tributaries.
Particularly in Sunkoshi, Tamakoshi, Dudhkoshi, Arun, Tamor, Trishuli, Budhigandaki, Marsyangdi and Kaligandaki, the flood forecasting department has forecast that the flow will increase and in some areas, it may reach the alert level. The Kankai and its tributaries will also increase flow. The flow in Kamala, Bagmati, East Rapti, Tinau, West Rapti, Babail and other places is forecast to be normal and below the alert level.
The flow will increase in Sankhuwasabha, Bhojpur, Dhankuta, Ilam, Panchthar, Makwanpur, Dhading, Nuwakot, Manang, Kapilvastu, Rukum West, Jajarkot, Kailali and small rivers flowing in the surrounding districts. Some have predicted a sudden drift. The branch has requested to be vigilant in the riparian and flood-prone areas.
