Agreement to run the government by strengthening the alliance
KATHMANDU: JULY 25 – Top leaders have agreed to help run the government by making the five-party alliance more effective. A meeting held at the Prime Minister’s residence on Saturday evening decided to run the government effectively.
During the meeting, the top leaders had serious discussions on cabinet expansion, current political situation, future plans of the government and efforts to control the epidemic, said Vishnu Sapkota, press expert of UCPN (M) Central Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’.
The meeting was attended by Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, CPN-Maoist Central Committee Chairman Dahal, CPN-UML leader Madhav Kumar Nepal, Janata Samajwadi Party Nepal Chairman Upendra Yadav and Rastriya Janamorcha Nepal Chairman Chitra Bahadur KC.
Prime Minister Deuba was in the same position at the meeting of the ruling coalition held in Baluwatar for the first time after Deuba became the Prime Minister. Leaving the chair of the Prime Minister, Deuba seems to be sitting on the sofa like four leaders. In a meeting with two former prime ministers (Prachanda and Nepal) and two former deputy prime ministers (Yadav and KC), Prime Minister Deuba was seen sitting in the same position.
According to his secretariat, Prime Minister Deuba sat on the sofa to convey the message that all the top leaders of the coalition are equal. Some say Deuba learned a lesson from the situation when incumbent Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli could not accept the existence of his own party (then CPN) leaders.
