Former NRNA treasurer Thapa assists players in memory of late father
KATHMANDU: JULY 25 – Former Treasurer of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) and social worker Hikmat Thapa has helped the players in the memory of his late father. In memory of his late father, narrator Gagan Singh Thapa, he has donated Rs 15,000 to the players of Chetana Community Development Forum in his village to buy dresses and sports equipment.
Thapa said that they were encouraged to watch the game through social media and after seeing the video of the players playing in preparation. Thapa, who has a permanent home in Tikapur, Kailali, is currently working in Nigeria. He said that he had spent almost half of his father’s life in Katase of Janaki village and he was happy to be able to help as he was leading in the development of the rights and interests of the place even when he was alive.
Earlier, Thapa had handed over Rs 10,000 cash to the players of the Chetana Community Development Forum to encourage them through Gagan Foundation. All the players, including Chetana Community Development Forum Chairman Makar Rawal and Sports Coordinator Shahil, expressed their gratitude and appreciation for the support rendered to their village.
