Negligence has resulted in an increase in infection
KATHMANDU: JULY 25 – Negligence has resulted in an increase in COVID-19 infections in Jumla. According to health workers, the rate of infection is rising as a result of noncompliance with health standards and covid treatment.
On Friday alone, 58 people were subjected to RT PCR at Karnali Institute of Health Sciences Teaching Hospital in Jumla, with 40 being tested for coronavirus. Many people have been tested with coronavirus infection at the same time.
The number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 infection in Jumla has reached 1,176 since the first week of April. According to Assistant Chief District Officer Nandaram Chaulagain, the number of those infected will be 951 by July 23.
Even now, 225 people are actively infected in Jumla. According to the District Administration Office, Jumla, eight people, including five senior citizens, have died due to the coronavirus. Four people have died while undergoing treatment at Karnali Hospital outside the district. The prohibitory order has now been eased a bit in Jumla.
