More than 93 thousand inoculated
KATHMANDU: JULY 24 -More than 93,000 people in the district have received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. According to the District Health Office, 93,372 people have been vaccinated with the first dose of two different companies.
A total of 23,938 have received the second dose. The vaccination campaign began with Covishield, with 39,879 people receiving the first dose and 13,172 receiving the second dose, according to the office’s chief, Dipak Prasad Tiwari.
Similarly, in the second phase, a China-made Vero Cell was used, and 53,493 people have already received their first dose. 10,766 of them received their second dose.
According to the office, 13.5 per cent of Chitwan’s population has received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. This is higher than the national average, which is approximately 7%.
The office will also begin administering the Johnson & Johnson single-shot vaccine on July 29. The single-shot vaccine is available to people aged 50 to 54, people with disabilities, Nepalese refugees, and sanitation workers.
