SRINAGAR: JULY 23 – Two trekkers were killed and another critically injured after they fell into a crevasse in Indian-controlled Kashmir, officials said Friday.

The incident took place Thursday night in the Hallan area of Verinag in Anantnag district, about 100 km south of Srinagar city, the summer capital of Indian-controlled Kashmir.

“Last night three persons from a group of trekkers fell into a crevasse at Hallan last night. Two of them were killed on the spot and the third one was critically injured,” a police official said.

Police have registered a case and ordered an investigation.
