KATHMANDU: JULY 23 – Three people have been arrested on suspicion of defrauding a total of Rs 749,500. They were arrested by Nepal Police’s Central Investigation Bureau on charges of defrauding several people by promising to send them to the United States.

Binod Bhusal, 24, of Kapilvastu, Pukar Gurung, 31, of Kaski, and Prakash Gurung, 30, of Kaski, were detained.

In the name of sending people to the United States on work visas, they have defrauded them.

Divya Rana, who is presently residing in the United States, contacted the victims through Bhusal, according to bureau spokesperson SP Shyam Kumar Mahato. Bhusal is said to have orchestrated the procedure of sending them to the United States to work on Rana’s agriculture property.

Bhusal was discovered creating forged documents for the United States embassy. Bhusal was detained on charges of accepting Rs 2.5 million in exchange for the release of a person imprisoned in the United States.
