Gandaki State: Congress adds three ministers
POKHARA: JULY 23 – In Gandaki, the Congress has also added three ministers from its quota. Mekhlal Shrestha of Syangja, Manibhadra Sharma of Baglung and Dobate Bishwokarma of Tanahun are about to become ministers. It has not been decided yet whether what position they will get.
According to sources, Sharma will be given the ministry of social development while Shrestha and Bishwokarma will be given charge of tourism and state assembly affairs respectively. But it is said that the responsibility may be changed till the oath.
The Maoists have already handed over the names of the three ministers to the Chief Minister. The UCPN (Maoist), which has joined the government led by party deputy leader Ramji Baral, has appointed Baral as the finance minister. Deepak Charti of Syangja has become the Forest Minister and Chandra Bahadur Budha of Baglung has become the Agriculture Minister.
In addition, the Council of Ministers has been completed in this state which has 11 ministries. Earlier, it was said that Jasapa would be given two ministers, but now Congress has broken the agreement and taken five ministries. Harisharan Acharya of Jasapa has become the Minister of Energy, Water Resources and Drinking Water while Independent MP Rajiv Gurung has become the Minister of Youth and Sports.
The swearing-in of the newly appointed ministers will take place at 1 p.m. Madhumaya Adhikari from the Maoists has already become a minister. She has become the Health and Population Minister while Kumar Khadka of the Nepali Congress has become the Social Development Minister. But his work responsibilities are going to be manipulated. He is about to become the Minister of Physical Development.
