Real Madrid beats Barcelona 3-2 in veteran legends Clasico in Israel
JERUSALEM: JULY 21 – On Tuesday evening, Real Madrid veterans defeated Barcelona veterans 3-2 at the legends El Clasico in Israel.
Among the former stars in the game were Ronaldinho, Rivaldo, Gaizka Mendieta and Deco in Barcelona, facing Real’s Roberto Carlos, Luis Figo, Ivan Campo, Alfonso Perez and Pedro Munitis.
The match was played in front of 26,000 fans at Bloomfield Stadium in Tel Aviv-coastal Yafo’s city of Tel Aviv-Yafo and lasted 40 minutes per half.
Barcelona’s first chance came in the 19th minute when Ronaldinho’s shot hit the post. After Antonio Nunez fouled Saviola in the box, the former Brazilian superstar scored from the penalty spot after eight minutes.
Real tied the game within four minutes of the start of the second half, thanks to goals from Munitis and Perez.
In the 59th minute, Barcelona’s Jofre Mateu equalised after meeting a brilliant long pass from former Brazilian superstar Rivaldo.
In the 70th minute, Blancos’ Ruben de la Red scored the game-winning goal.
The event’s honorary guest was legendary goalkeeper Iker Casillas, who arrived in Israel on behalf of Real Madrid as part of his role as the Spanish club’s representative and ambassador.
