KMC cautions schools against taking enrollments before SEE results
KATHMANDU: JULY 19 – The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has urged the concerned sector not to take school enrollments before the results of Secondary Education Examinations, 2077 BS come out.
School enrollments before SEE results come out is against the provision in Rule 48 (6) of the School Education Management Regulations, 2074, according to a notice issued by the Education Department of the Metropolis.
All secondary schools have been asked not to take enrollments in grades 11 before the results are out, said Ram Prasad Subedi, chief of the education department.
The schools should follow some other directives. Likewise, they should already fix fees charged for grades 11 and 12 students when grade 11 enrollment takes place and charge fees for registration and examination as set by the National Examination Board.
Similarly, students should not be forced to purchase textbooks, exercise books, school uniforms and other educational materials from the place as directed by the respective school.
The schools have been asked to submit a list of services and fees charged from grades 11 and 12 students to the department within July 30. Information about the respective schools providing scholarship facilities as it has managed and other facilities to its students should be submitted to the department within two months of the beginning of the academic session.
