97 points increase in NEPSE, turnover above Rs 11 billion

KATHMANDU: JULY 18 – The share market has welcomed the new fiscal year and the newly formed government. On Sunday, the first trading day of the new fiscal year 2077/78, the index increased by 97.21 points and reached 2980.61 points. The Sensitive Index also rose by 19.55 points to 560.96 points.

A total of 2 crores 88 lakh 63 thousand 93 shares of 221 companies were traded at a price of Rs 11.63 billion 81 lakh 26 thousand 493 rupees on the day.

The indices of the 13 group companies that came into business on this day have turned green. The index of the largest life insurance group has increased by 648.46 points.

Among the earners on this day are shares of Himalayan Power Partner, Singati Hydro Energy, Siddhartha Bank Limited, Sindhu Bikash Bank. The share prices of these companies have risen by 8 to 10 per cent.

Newly-appointed Finance Minister Janardan Sharma of the newly formed government has said that the share market is beneficial for the people and it is estimated that the new day has helped to boost the market emotionally.
